Privacy Policy

Short version: MyGroupScore is a game. Your email is private; your player name, team, points, and any link you choose to add are visible on the player board. We do not sell player data.

1. Who is responsible

MyGroupScore is the data controller for the information described here. Contact us about privacy, access, correction, or deletion at hello@mygroupscore.com. Before commercial launch, we will publish the legal operator’s full name and business address here.

2. Information we process

• Account information: when you choose Google sign-in, we receive your Google account name, email address, and profile photo if Google provides it.
• Public player-board information: your chosen display name, selected team, scores/points, and the link and link label you voluntarily add. Do not put sensitive information in a public link or display name.
• Game and security information: game scores, reward-unlock state, basic technical logs, and information needed to prevent abuse or troubleshoot the service.
• Analytics: Microsoft Clarity may collect interaction and device information, including session recordings and heatmaps, to help us understand site use.
• On-device preferences: your cookie-notice choice, sound preference, and some game preferences may be stored in your browser.

3. Why we use it

We use account and game information to run the game, keep your account and player board working across devices, protect the service, respond to requests, improve the product, and understand how visitors use the game.

4. What stays private and what is public

Your email address and Google account identifier are not displayed on the public player board. Your display name, team, score/points, and any link you submit are public to other players. You control whether to add a public link.

5. Service providers

We use Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore to provide sign-in and store player/game data. We use Microsoft Clarity for interaction analytics, session replay, and heatmaps. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also use GitHub Pages and Google Fonts to deliver the website. We do not currently process payments through this game.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep account and game data while your account is active or as reasonably needed for the purposes above. You may request deletion of your player account and associated data by emailing us from the account email address. We aim to respond within 30 days, subject to identity verification and any legal/security need to retain limited records.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including authenticated access controls and Firebase security rules. No online service can promise absolute security; please use a strong Google account and do not share access to it.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your information. Email hello@mygroupscore.com to make a request. You may also clear browser storage through the Cookie Policy.

9. Children

MyGroupScore is not directed to children under 16. If you are below the age at which you can consent to online services where you live, use the service only with a parent or guardian’s permission.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the game or legal requirements change. The date above shows the latest version.
